Back to Random EncountersManusia     Manusia's wilderness hazards largely consist of haywire techs from Elysya and Hephæstis, as well as bandit gangs and natural predators. These dangers tend to rise and fall together in unpredictable cycles - usually initiated by a new wave of reanimators, which in turn displaces animals and foments banditry via economic hardship. Chance Rolls    Manusia modifies chance level anywhere from -2 to +2 realmwide, depending on the current moment in the aforementioned cycle. The high-chance periods naturally see an increase in adventuring work, so your plot might naturally bring the party here during the +1 or +2 times. If this isn't your plan for the story, feel free to default to +0, or to roll for a random modifier every half-season or so.

Selection Rolls

    An unmodified selection d20 represents Manusia's major roads, as well as areas close to a domain's larger villages and towns. For wilderness areas close to smaller villages, on minor roads, or within 1 mile of a major road, add +10. For wilderness areas or rural roads between 1 and 10 miles away from a major road, add +20. For wilderness areas more than 10 miles from a major road, add +30 or +40, depending on whether they are closer to a major Manusian city or to an old Alacrian city-fortress.
